DescriptionPerformance a variety of maintenance duties including but not limiting to building, maintaining installing, removing, and/or replacing.
ResponsibilitiesRole & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspection of major utilities systems such as heating, domestic hot water, electrical, emergency power distribution system, plumbing, medical gas, vacuum, bulk oxygen reading, negative pressure rooms reading, fire alarm and monitoring systems, document results; identify, report, and troubleshoot abnormal conditions;
- Revision of existing HVAC system operations thru Computerize Building Management System and ability to make an temperature adjustments and monitoring chillers and boilers operations.
- Response to any fire system alarms and ability to reset system back to normal from control panel.
- Ability to obtain G-17 (Bulk Oxygen Operation) Certificate of Fitness from NYC FD.
- Must be able to repair hospital beds, stretchers, well chairs, hospital fixtures, doors, locks replacement and repair as well as stationary and movable equipment.
- Perform incremental unit coils cleaning and filters replacement.
- Assist with all phases of renovation and misc. projects and general hospital maintenance.
- Exposure to industrial power tools, heavy lifting.
- Surveys areas of the plant to troubleshoots mechanical, structural, or plumbing problems
- Performs repairs on hospital fixtures as well as stationary and moveable equipment.
- Inspects services and repairs air conditioners and sections of the heating systems - electrical
- Other assignments as instructed by Supervisor.
QualificationsRequirements:
- High School Diploma or trade/vocational diploma, or completion of a training program recognized by the hospital, or 7 years related maintenance mechanic experience in health care industry preferred
- Must have experience in performing building maintenance and construction
- Experience in operation Computerized Building Management Systems
- Course in A/C, plumbing, machine shop, and other related areas helpful; HVAC systems experience
- Must possess or obtain G-71 (Supervision of non-flammable piped medical gases)
- Certificate of Fitness from FDNY within 90 days
- Ability to follow clearly defined procedures and practices
