Able to lead the Rolling Stock Mechanical Design Works under the Rolling Stock Contract.
Able to perform the exhaustive review of Rolling Stock mechanical systems including but not limited to Carbody, bogie, brake & pneumatics, coupler, door, air conditioning, gangway, gearbox etc.
Have thorough experience in dealing crashworthiness design, bogie dynamics, Carbody & bogie FEA, fire safety management, pneumatics circuit, wheel rail interaction, stainless steel carbody welding and bogie frame welding processes.
Have experience to validate the above design aspects with respect to the requirements of corresponding EN, UIC, BS Standards. Demonstrable ability to identify, understand and apply relevant Engineering Standards
Capable of engaging effectively with Contractor and Client during design workshops and capable of leading the mechanical design aspects with them.
Able to verify the Contractor’s design calculations and test reports
Knowledge of statutory approval process for Indian Metros including RDSO trials
Can objectively assess and report on the Contractor’s planning and execution of manufacturing, factory tests, trials & systems integration matters
Can lead the quality assurance works at the manufacturer’s location during the manufacturing of rolling stock specially carbody shell, bogie frame etc.
Has experience of witnessing the Rolling Stock type tests including carbody shell structural test, bogie frame static & fatigue test, EN45545 related fire tests, floor fire barrier test, climate chamber test, brake dynamometer test, coupler tests etc.
Able to work under own initiative to produce high quality reports and presentations.
