SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Concrete Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in building, forming, and finishing concrete structures such as foundations, walls, columns, and sidewalks. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, work independently or as part of a crew, and ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reads and interprets construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Builds and sets forms for concrete placement including wood, metal, and prefabricated systems
- Places and finishes concrete using tools such as screeds, trowels, floats, and power tools
- Installs reinforcement materials such as rebar and mesh
- Ensures proper alignment, leveling, and finishing of concrete structures
- Sets up concrete forms to the specified pitch, depth, and alignment accurately
- Dismantles forms after concrete has set
- Utilizes construction tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Works in coordination with other trades and contractors
- Follows all safety regulations and company policies on job sites
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and punctuality
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and other construction equipment
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Ability to read and follow instructions and blueprints
WORK ENVIORMENT
- Outdoor job sites in various weather conditions
- May involve working around heavy equipment and loud noise
- Requires standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting heavy materials for extended periods
- May require overtime or weekend work depending on project deadline
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
